At River Tyne Academy, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the challenges they may have faced in their educational journey. We are proud to provide a nurturing, supportive and ambitious learning environment for pupils whose needs cannot currently be met within mainstream education.
Our learners join us with a wide range of experiences and individual needs. Many have experienced disruption to their education following permanent exclusion or require specialist support to help them re-engage with learning. Our role is to understand each young person, recognise their strengths, and help them build the confidence, skills and resilience needed to thrive.
We offer a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum that combines academic achievement with personal development. Through our focus on Currency, Character and Community, we equip learners with the knowledge, qualifications and life skills they need to make positive choices and achieve their goals. We have high expectations for every pupil and are committed to helping them achieve the very best outcomes, whether that is returning to mainstream education, progressing to further education, training, employment or another provision that best meets their needs.
Strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with families, schools and external agencies to ensure that every learner receives the support they need to be successful. Our dedicated staff team takes the time to understand each young person as an individual, helping them feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
